When it comes to your life do you feel BORED or are you EXCITED about the days and years stretched out before you?

Maybe you wish you could respond with: OMG OF COURSE I'M EXCITED! but the truth is you can't remember the last time you truly had fun and let go?

Here are some common signs that you might be stuck in a boring, monotonous rut:

1. Every Day Feels Like Groundhog Day –

You’re running on autopilot, following the same script every single day, like the star of your very own boring sitcom with no plot twists and no room for spontaneity or variety.

2. Your Goals Need a Spark –

Your dreams are so dusty they could set off a sneezing fit. Long-term goals? Maybe. Exciting goals? Not so much.

3. Weekends Are Basically Weekdays in Disguise –

Your weekends feel like déjà vu. Netflix, laundry, repeat. Spontaneity called, and sigh - you sent it straight to voicemail.

4. Social Life? More Like Social Snooze

Catching up with friends has become about as rare as a unicorn sighting, and even when you do, it’s the same old “So, how’s work?” Nothing too exciting happening in your diary!

5. You’re in a Job… Not an Adventure –

You’re clocking in and out, but passion? Inspiration? Left the building long ago. You're just going through the motions without feeling challenged or passionate about what you do.

6. The Only New Thing You’re Learning Is What Happens in Season 4 –

Any hobbies and new skills have unfortunately taken a back seat, replaced by rewatching that one TV series… again. You're not pursuing any hobbies, classes, or interests outside of work, and as a result, your skills or knowledge feel stagnant.

7. Couch Potato Status: Certified –

Your free time has you glued to the couch, the gym has become a mythical place, and Netflix is your best workout partner. Most of your evenings or free time are spent sitting, watching TV, or scrolling on your phone without purpose.

8. Your Travel Bug’s in Hibernation –

Passport gathering dust? Check. Last trip was to the grocery store? Check. You rarely travel or explore new places, even locally, and you don’t make plans to do so in the future.

9. Your Conversations Are on Repeat –

If there were a script for your chats, it’d be titled *Small Talk: The Neverending Edition* (featuring "How’s the weather?” and “Ugh, Mondays”). You find that your conversations with others revolve around the same topics (e.g., work, weather, or daily chores) without delving into new or engaging subjects.

10. Motivation Meter: Running Low –

Your ambition seems to have gone on a permanent vacation, leaving you with energy levels that scream *sleepy kitten*. You feel a lack of drive or energy to pursue anything beyond the basics, often finding yourself tired, bored, or apathetic.

11. Self-Care? What's That? –

Self-care feels like an old friend you lost touch with, and the spa might as well be on another planet. You’re not actively caring for your physical, mental, or emotional well-being, so you feel both stuck and uninspired.

12. Personal Milestones Are… in Hiding –

Life’s big wins are looking more like hidden Easter eggs you just can’t find, with little to mark in the victory column. You can’t recall recent moments of pride, achievement, or personal celebration; milestones feel distant or nonexistent.

13. You’re Practically Allergic to New Things –

New experiences, who? The unknown feels like an awkward first date, so you stick to what you know (and know well). Life at the moment feels dull and uninspiring and new challenges feel like burdens instead of opportunities

14. Complaints Are Your Jam –

It’s the same old “my job this” and “life that,” but you’re too cozy in the routine to shake it up. You tend to say “no” to new activities, ideas, or invitations and frequently complain about the same issues (work, relationships, or life in general) without taking action to change them.

If some of these points feel like they're poking you in the side, it might be a sign that you’re craving change. It's time for a plot twist!

Here’s what life looks like when it’s full of excitement, adventure, and purpose (aka NOT BORING!):

1. Every Day Feels Like an Open Book

Each day feels meaningful. Your days aren’t repetitive; they’re varied and purposeful, with a sense of openness and possibility.

2. Your Goals So Big They Make You Giddy –

You’re chasing dreams that light a fire in you and matter to you, and they provide motivation, a sense of progress, and something to look forward to. Whether it’s a career milestone, a fitness challenge, or a creative project, you’re motivated to keep pushing forward.

3. Weekends Are Refreshing –

Your weekends involve activities that are enjoyable and enriching to you, whether it’s spending time with friends, exploring a new place, or simply doing something you love.

4. You Have A Strong Social Circle –

Your relationships bring variety and support into your life, and you regularly spend time with friends or family who encourage you to try new things. Your life feels alive and well, full of spontaneous get-togethers, inside jokes, and friends who are always down for something new.

5. Your Job Feels Like a Creative Playground –

You find satisfaction in your work, feeling challenged, engaged, and aligned with your goals and values. Work doesn’t feel like a chore because you’re constantly growing, with new ideas brewing every day.

6. Learning is Your Superpower –

You're always learning or developing a new skill. You're picking up a new hobby, reading, taking a course or tackling something totally different, like painting, writing poetry, or cooking the perfect soufflé.

7. You’ve Got a Physical Routine That Energizes You –

Exercise is a regular part of your routine, giving you energy and a sense of well-being. The gym, hiking trails, or yoga mat are familiar territory, and moving your body is an energizing part of your week.

8. You look forward to new experiences and travel -

Your calendar has a trip, big or small, that’s just around the corner. You’re always dreaming up new places to explore and experiences to try that break the routine, like traveling, exploring your local area, or trying new experiences.

9. Conversations Go Deep And Feel Meaningful –

Chatting with friends or family goes beyond the usual topics, diving into dreams, books, philosophies, or that “aha” moment you had last week. You connect deeply with others, discussing topics beyond the surface level, and learning from each other’s experiences.

10. Your Motivated And Engaged –

You’ve got a pep in your step because there’s so much to look forward to; even the little things excite you. You feel motivated to accomplish things, whether in work, personal projects, or day-to-day life.

11. Self-Care is Second Nature –

You know how to recharge and make time for activities that replenish you and take the time to do so regularly.

12. You're Celebrating Your Achievements –

You set goals, meet them, and take time to appreciate your progress and achievements and life’s big and small wins.

13. The Unknown is Just Another Invitation

You’re open to change and growth, actively seeking out new opportunities to learn and broaden your perspectives. New experiences are like candy and you're open to saying “yes” to it all.

14. Gratitude and Positivity are Your Jam –

Complaints take a backseat to a sense of gratitude and optimism because you’re invested in living fully. You’re grateful for what you have, focusing on the positives and staying optimistic about the future.

When your life isn't boring, it feels rich, energizing, and filled with possibility. You’re constantly growing, exploring, and making memories that will last a lifetime.

When you’re engaged with life like this, boredom doesn’t stand a chance!
